Over our thirty three year history we have had many success not least of course being that we have survived. We have managed to expand and become a mature and responsive organisation capable of developing our own models of delivery.
- in 2009 we achieved the VISIBLE quality standard which is a national communities programme accreditation aimed at improving our role as a community hub.“The new standards are a clear and continuing demonstration of commitment to encourage best practice in the sector” Sam Younger CBE Chief Executive of the Charity Commission.
- Opening the Food Place Community Café has been a stupendous achievement after some years in the planning. It has been an opportunity to welcome a whole new group of local residents into many of whom who have never previously accessed the centre so a real asset in relation to community engagement. It is also a great training vehicle for people who want to gain experience or volunteer in the catering industry.
- We have re modeled our nursery and now operate an expanded programme from the Hall space . We offer places on the scheme for two year olds and operate a waiting list for the nursery.
- Our partnerships are critical to the success of the centre’s delivery of activities and services. We have a creative approach to partnership working and are deeply committed to ensuring that opportunities are seized. We are involved in a number of partnership ventures including Living Centre Working Group, South Camden Area Partnership, Neighbourhood Planning Forum and the Knowledge Quarter.
