Roll up to our Friday film shows

Open City Docs, London’s Global Documentary Festival, will be launching Somers Town Film Club this September in partnership with Somers Town Community Centre. Somers Town Film Club will host free monthly screenings of documentaries as well as a free training scheme. The first Friday of each month will see the community centre open it’s doors for local residents to enjoy free films and join in the conversation with the filmmakers.
Behind the scenes, the Film Club will be run by Somers Town residents in partnership with Open City Docs. There will be a training session for interested residents on the first Sunday of each month. These training sessions will covers all aspects of running a film club from programming, hosting Q&As, sourcing films and marketing events. The perfect opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about events and film culture.
The film club is part of Open City Docs’ community outreach work which runs alongside their other projects including Open City Docs Fest which runs each June in Bloomsbury and across London and the Open City Docs School with offers courses for filmmakers looking to learn more about the craft of documentary filmmaking.
The first screening will take place on Friday 5th September at 7pm with the film to be announced soon.
Event supported by Film Hub London, managed by Film London and a proud partner of the BFI Film Audience Network, funded by the National Lottery.
